Q: You've been gone for 18 months. What have you been up to?
A: I am amused to say that I have not been up to anything. Nothing that anybody would be surprised about, anyway. Some of it is recounted on the other blog. The previous strangereality contains a link to that other blog. I will leave it intact for now.
Q: I've just looked. Hmmm. Not a very regular blogger even there, are you?
A: No.
Q: So, is Lord Strange back?
A: Yes, it would seem so.
Q: Back for good? Or will you disappear again after a day or two?
A: We shall see.
Q: Way back on 15th January 2005 you said it was definitely the end of strangereality. You said that this time you meant it.
A: I believe it was Jean-Paul Sartre who observed that it is foolish for any person to be held permanently accountable for things they have said in the past. What he meant, of course, was that the ontological phenomenality of reality frames the individ--
Q: You haven't changed, have you?
A: No.
Q: Got tired of the other place, eh.
A: Not really. No more than I got tired and am tired of other online locales. I got tired of everything in the world a long time ago. Everything is equivalently tiresome to me.
Q: You're a barrel of laughs.
A: I am that.
Q: So just what exactly have you been up to for a year and a half?
A: Like I said, some of it is on the other blog. But lots of it isn't.
Q: Can you top and tail it for us, please?
A: No problem. I resigned from my job at the local utility company. I spent several months sitting at home, living on my savings. I wrote some more novels. None of them are any good. I increased my alcohol intake and became depressed. I gave up alcohol. I'm still 'dry' at the time we are speaking - it's been about 5 months now. Once my savings ran out, sometime in springtime just gone, I started looking for another job. Reluctantly, but out of necessity. I found a job that is more or less bearable, and one that allows me to work evening and night shifts if I want to. I'm still there now, at that job. It's okay.
Q: What, you're still not married, or seeing anyone?
A: I will treat that question as the joke that it is. Ha-ha.
Q: So what can we expect from Lord Strange and strangereality in the future?
A: I don't know. Possibly nothing. I just don't know.
Q: This template is so old. You really have been gone a long time.
A: I know! Just had a quick look around the site and there are all these new-fangled, sleek, shiny new templates to choose from. It's quite amazing.
Q: Any plans to redecorate this place?
A: No. I like the retro-look. It'll stay for now.
Q: Got any last words?
A: Welcome to reality. Within 'reality' all kinds of things exist. The following is a random selection from reality.
Q: Very droll.
A: You're welcome.
